Untethered

I had the incredible opportunity to be part of the University of Washington's 2019 Animation Capstone Program, where I, as part of a team of 17 students and staff, collaborated for a year to bring a short film to life—from story-development, concept, to post-production. Our film, Untethered, was a true team effort in which I contributed as an animator, facial expressions lead, and reference lead. Check out the trailer!

Untethered: A Virtual Reality Exhibit

In addition to completing the traditional animation capstone, I also participated in the University of Washington’s VR Capstone. For our final project, we created interactive VR experiences to complement the Untethered film. These experiences immersed users in the world of the orcas, allowing them to engage with and learn more about our film’s main characters. These experiences were then installed in the school's Jacob Lawrence Gallery, which I promoted by animating and developing the AR Snapchat filter shown here.

Mousetrap: A Two Timing Rat

Two Timing Rat was the first quarter-final project of the animation capstone, created in collaboration with two of my peers. We were given minimal prompting/constraints beyond the character models and set pieces from the game of Mousetrap but were responsible for everything else—storyboarding, modeling additional props, animating, and editing. I'm especially proud of the facial expressions and how, despite being novice animators, we brought the story and characters to life with personality and humor.
